WELCOME TO SMART AIRPORTS 2011

The inter airport Europe ‘Smart Airports’ is the official conference taking part alongside the airport industry’s key trade fair for equipment, technology, design and service which takes place in Munich yet again in 2011.

Munich has hosted this high-tech trade fair seven times and this year’s exhibition and conference will again be staged at the Messe München International trade fair facility.

Smart Airports will be co-located at the International Congress Centre (ICM), a purpose built, modern conference facility on site at the exhibition.

I am very pleased that this major industry meeting has found a home in the Bavarian capital. Munich has surged ahead in recent years to become a driving force behind the growth of the European air transport sector by posting growth rates unrivalled by any other German airport, and is the only gateway in Germany to gain and hold a place alongside Frankfurt on the worldwide aviation map.

Airports throughout the world must brace themselves to face future challenges in a fast expanding market. It is not of tomorrow’s task to save energy and reduce pollution, it is already today’s duty and responsibility.

Individual strategies and technologies must be developed and implemented for European airports to successfully deal with future challenges and ensure the competitiveness of the European aeronautics industry.

The 18th inter airport Europe will therefore provide interesting conference opportunities from October 10 until October 14, 2011:
